Taxi: Taking a taxi at El Dorado Airport in Bogota is a convenient way to get to your destination. Here are some instructions to guide you:

1. Upon arrival at El Dorado Airport, follow the signs to reach the designated taxi area. The taxi rank is located outside the terminal buildings.

2. Look for the official taxi kiosk or queue, where you'll find authorized taxis. It is important to use authorized taxis to ensure your safety and avoid scams.

3. Approach the staff at the taxi kiosk and let them know your destination in Bogota. They will provide you with a ticket specifying the fare and the number of your assigned taxi. Make sure to keep this ticket with you throughout the journey.

4. Proceed to the assigned taxi and present the ticket to the driver. Confirm that the meter is functioning properly before starting the ride. Taxis in Bogota are equipped with a standardized meter system to ensure fair and transparent pricing.

5. Once you reach your destination, the taxi meter will display the fare. The fare will depend on the distance traveled and any additional charges specified on the ticket. It is customary to tip the driver around 10% of the total fare as a gesture of appreciation.

Remember to have some Colombian pesos available to pay for the taxi fare, as not all taxis accept credit cards. If you don't have local currency, it's advisable to exchange some at the airport before taking the taxi.

Bus: The bus from and to the airport is extremely straightforward as the bus stop for this bus is 2 minutes walk from the apartment. At the airport you need to first get a Tullave card which currently costs COP5,000 (=1USD) and then top it up with say COP10,000 - the Tullave kiosk is green and about 100m from the exit from arrivals within the terminal building - you need Colombian cash for this. It's essentially a smart card as you cannot pay with cash on Bogotá's buses. You then leave the terminal building and walk to the left where you will find the bus stop for the K86. You take this bus to the satellite about 2 miles from the airport. There you will look for the M86 at the far end of the satellite - you do not need to pay again on getting into this bus. You then stay on this bus all the way to stop K7-Calle 70a. (K7 means the avenue 7 which the bus is running along. The next two stops are announced constantly so keep an eye on the display. The one before the one you want is K7 Calle 66. You will need to cross the road 0Carrera 7) once you get off the bus. It takes about 40 minutes in total and the return journey is simply the opposite with the bus stop on the same side of the road as the apartment (Calle 70a).
